Lined Plug Valve

Our PFA lined plug valves are designed for handling aggressive corrosive conditions, ensuring long-term durability under the harshest conditions. With exceptional corrosion resistance, these valves are used in industries like chemical processing, chlor-alkali, mining, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, steel, pharmaceuticals, and wastewater treatment. We also offer plug valves with FEP or antistatic PFA.

Our plug valves can operate in a wide temperature range (- 40 °C to 200 °C) and can withstand pressures up to 15 bar . Certified for CLASS VI – Tight Shutoff as per API 598, these valves have zero leakage ensuring safe and reliable operations.

Our plug valves come with versatile operational options choose from a robust cast iron lever, handwheel, electric, or pneumatic actuator for effortless control. Our unique design ensures very low torque as compared to other plug valves, and our single-piece shaft and plug, uniformly lined with PFA, ensures corrosion free long-lasting service. Available in sizes from DN15 – DN 200 ( 1/2” to 8”), our valves are ready to meet the demands of your project.

With decades of industry expertise, our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions tailored to your needs.

FAQ's

A PFA-lined plug valve features a body lined with PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy alkanes) and a plug lined from PFA, providing excellent corrosion resistance and low permeability. This makes it ideal for handling aggressive chemicals, where standard valves may not be suitable. When the plug is turned, the hole within it aligns with the pipe to allow fluid to pass through or block the flow when perpendicular to the pipe. This simple yet effective mechanism allows for quick and reliable control of fluid flow within a pipeline.

PFA lining offers high chemical resistance, a smooth surface that minimizes friction and fouling. The PFA lining acts as a barrier between the flowing medium and the valve's internal components, effectively shielding them from corrosive substances.

Yes, these valves generally require minimal maintenance. Regular inspection for wear and tear, along with routine cleaning, can help ensure their longevity.

Plug valves consist of a cylindrical plug with an aperture that is rotated to open or close the valve. When aligned with the valve body, the aperture allows fluid flow; when perpendicular, it seals the valve. The aperture is normally smaller than the pipe diameter, which ensures that as it turns the plug body is in full contact with the inner liner. There is no “gap” in which the liquid can accumulate.

This is unlike a ball valve which consist of a spherical ball with a bore that is rotated to open or close the valve. Due to the curvature of the ball, fluid can enter into the empty space between the ball and inner wall of the valve. This accumulated fluid can crystallise, and damage the liner.

The disadvantage of plug valves as compared to ball valves is that they require higher torque to operate and have a higher pressure drop.

Yes, these valves find extensive application in Chlor-Alkali industries handling aggressive chemicals like hydrochloric acid and caustic soda.

Certainly! We offer Antistatic PFA lined Valves in Dupont's grade C 980 or 3M Dyneon's 8502 ESDZ. Choosing the correct material is crucial, as a grounding spring alone cannot dissipate static charge in a standard PFA grade, which is non-conductive.

We keep many valves in stock in our warehouse in Netherlands, India and USA and can ship them within a week.

Our plug valves are available in numerous sizes DN15-DN200 (1/2"-8") providing a range of options to meet diverse industrial needs.
